Genre bending
Antiquarians:
According to The Internet Filter, VLA exemplifies a new genre: "conservative porn":
There exists a[n] emerging preponderance of so called “conservative porn” which is not really porn but is somewhat [titillating] ... It can not be described in any real way as pornography and hence we do not include it in our filtering process.
Well, that sounds about right, except besides not being "porn," VLA isn't "conservative" either. Except, perhaps, in the way that button-down shirts or Brooks Brothers suits are conservative.
However, I'm pleased by the recognition that VLA is not pornography, since the fact of arousal, however happy for readers, and however frequent, is peripheral to our purposes.
"Emerging preponderance," though—would that be my " mammoth" emerging preponderance?

She enters, bearing a tray: Diet Coke for her, water, iced, for me.
Why does she think I'll get thirsty?
